Plants add colour to an apartment and bring a little of the outdoors in. However, if you’re not known for your green fingers – try one these easy to care for varieties.
1) Mother-in-law’s tongue
We don’t know where the name comes from, but this hardy indoor plant appreciates plenty of light and only needs watering when dry. You may even get away with only watering it once a month.
2) Rubber plant
The rubber plant appreciates bright light and prefers not to be constantly damp. You may need to re-pot as it grows and prune if it’s getting out of control.
3) Peace Lily
Get this plant to know you’re doing some good for your environment. The Peace Lily filters toxins from the air, helping you stay extra healthy. Some varieties grow taller than others so buy one to suit your space.
This is a good option if you have a space to fill that doesn’t get as much natural light as the rest of your home. They also prefer being a little drier, so you don’t have to remember to water it too often.
With lovely bright red, pink or white flowers, this plant adds a bit of colour to your home. It also enjoys bright light, and likes it’s soil to remain moist but not soaking. You can get rid of any dead leaves as they’re ready.
Finally, it’s important to ensure your potted plants are always kept in watertight containers so as you do not run the risk of any damage occurring to the floorings.
Now sit back, relax and enjoy these new additions to your home.
